What do you enjoy most about being in Kyodo?: Kyodo was my first family at UCLA and provided me with my first sense of community on campus. I love all the memories and relationships that I've made through it, especially with the people I know I wouldn't have met outside of the team. Kyodo provides me an outlet from the stresses of academics and allows me to appreciate the joy of performing and connecting more with my Japanese heritage.

What do you enjoy most about being in Kyodo?: The community that Kyodo has provided me these past two years at UCLA has been more than I could ever ask for. I have loved being able to immerse myself in the Japanese and Japanese-American culture and history. From annual pilgrimages to Manzanar to performing in UCLA Nikkei Student Union's Annual Cultural Night, I appreciate the opportunities playing taiko has given me to learn from and meet others. But most of all, Kyodo has provided me with a family and a home-away-from-home that I will be eternally grateful for.
